Proceeds from this year’s
charity golf event will be used to further the development of the
Downtown Lemont “Community of Commerce Initiative”. That initiative
was conceived and is being facilitated by the Institute for
Community, an Illinois Non-Profit Corporation committed to
developing best practices for creating Genuine Community where
people live and work. The proceeds from last year’s first
annual Charity Golf Event
for the benefit of Downtown Lemont’s Business District, were used to
conduct research in assessing and mapping Lemont’s current downtown
assets, and developing a web tool providing free data access to
Lemont’s various business and property owners. Using the proceeds
from this year’s charity golf event, the IFC will continue its work
to create value, stimulate economic growth and address quality of
life issues in Downtown Lemont by developing grassroots
relationships among merchants, property owners, and residents in
Lemont’s new downtown setting.

as well as strategic corporate partnerships creating value in the neighborhoods
served.
